Practically all sugar produced in Florida is from cane grown in the region of the Everglades. This publication focuses on the planting, growing, and harvesting of sugarcane with special attention given to processing plants, disease and pest control, and experimental breeding and hybridization to develop plant characteristics suitable to the regional climate.
